I took some pictures of my English Lop on Christmas...

I just love her coloring, her large size...and those beautifully loooooong ears! :)

I was trying really hard to get some good shots of her, but she just loves to move around so much that I was having some trouble. 

She's so beautiful :)  This coming year (2016), I'm hoping to breed her.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that the babies will look like her! :)

I brought her up when my relatives were over for Christmas, they were all shocked by her large size!

She is a big bunny, but I think she's just average for an English Lop :)

I tried petting her to help keep her still.  Normally that works with other bunnies.  You pet them, then a moment afterwards, they stay still...waiting for more.  Not her, no.  Nope, Ragnara loves moving so much, this doesn't work with her :)

But she's still a good girl :)

So there you go...that's my English Lop, Ragnara! She's big, she's sweet and she's a great rabbit! Anyone thinking about English Lops as pets should go for it.  They're a ton of fun with great personalities! 

Christmas Adam

Today - well, at least in our family - is Christmas Adam.  Christmas Adam is something we came up with.  It's the day before Christmas Eve.  And in case you don't get the connection, it's for the Bible story of Genesis where Adam is created, then after him, Eve is made.

Anyway, this is something fun we came up with...it just seems to help the time go by on the countdown to Christmas day :)

Although, in our family, we've started a new tradition.  It was a few years back, actually.  But we've been perfecting this new tradition each new year :)

You see, in the evening, we each get to pick one gift to open up.  Then we all go to Christmas Eve Mass.

When we get back (which usually ends up close to 1:00am) then we open up ALL of the presents and sleep in on Christmas morning :)

It's a great tradition.  Our family loves it! Then in the morning, our grandparents come over and we open up presents from them, as well as they open up presents from us.  Afterwards, we all have a great Christmas breakfast :)

And so, there it is.  Our Christmas Adam is today and has been great! All the bunnies are doing well and so are the puppies.  Tonight will be the first night we'll all sleep the entire night through.  We'll see how it goes.  The puppies all turned 5 weeks old this past Tuesday :)

I wanted to take pictures of the rabbits today, but it's been raining non-stop, so I was unable to.  However, I did sell the tan/white male Lop this evening.  Apparently, he's going to be a Christmas present to a 13 year old girl :)  I'm sure she'll love him! He's a real sweetie :)  They'll have lots of fun with him.

Mini Lop Female

So the other month, I sold a college girl an 8 week old female Mini Lop.  She was actually from Elsa (AKA Ginger) and Olaf's litter.  Well, the surprise litter :)  I also sold her a cage.  Well, she recently contacted me saying she didn't realize how much work a rabbit would be, and so she gave the bunny and the cage back.

I didn't mind though.   She's a real sweet heart, I just feel badly for her that she still hasn't found her forever home.

So I put her back onto craigslist.  She's had some interest, but nothing solid.  Although, since she's completely unrelated to all bunnies I own, I'm thinking of just keeping her myself.  However, if she does get someone who wants her, I will definitely sell as I have plenty of bunnies for myself already :)

And since she had gotten used to being inside in the warmth, I put her in with my two little male Lops that I just got.  They're all young enough that I don't have to worry about breeding.  In fact, the males are so young, they have zero interest in such a thing.  But with them all together, she has some pals and when it gets chilly, they all cuddle together :) 

Re-Doing the Rabbitry

We've begun to re-do the rabbitry.  It's not complete, but we're hoping to at least get the one side done this Saturday.  We'll put the roof on...

So this is what it currently looks like out there - I took these pictures yesterday. 

As you can see, it's still decorated for fall, not Christmas. 

And there you can see the new structure we've built.  All that's left is the roof.  

But since we're still working on it, it looks rather messy. 

It looks like a 'construction' zone :)

But it's really awesome, because with this new design, the cages are hung off of hooks using clips.  There will be no more cages sitting on boards which will then rot or collect droppings :)

And this new pee-board is going to be great!! I'm really excited about it! No more tarps which end up leaking, these boards will stay straight, no bending :)  It's going to work out so well!

...and then the old side, which now looks like a hodgepodge.  But in the new year, we'll conquer that side too! :)

                         

For winter, I might be moving the hutches into the garden area...that way they'll be in the sun and the bunnies will stay warmer.  But we'll see, I'm not 100% sure on that yet :)

The black/white Lop pictured closest to the camera is actually my new female, Bonnie :)

It was a little warmer than usual, so I decided to start un-decorating from fall, and decorate for Christmas instead :)

...and this is my new BEW male, Gorman :)  I named him Gorman because it means 'blue eyed one'.  And for those of you who don't know, BEW stands for B-blue E-eyed W-white.

Although I still have a lot out...I need a bigger bin :)

I put up a string of jingle bells and a sparkly thing on the hutches :) 

I got new ribbon for this tree...although I need some for the orange one in the background...maybe change it to a green or red :)

It still needs more work, but it's looking better!

And I was able to hang up a few sparkly ice-skates and stars :)

And an apology for the lighting in these pictures.  By the time I took them, the sun was beginning to set and so my flash was on, making the pictures look rather bad.  So, still a lot of work left to go - but it's looking better all the time! :)
