Rabbits!

School started last week and this Friday I'm getting my wisdom teeth out.  Things just keep popping up.  However, I've been crazy busy with my bunnies! I was given a Velveteen named Franz, and then I got 2 Lops for free...a brother and a sister who's names were Olaf and Elsa :)  Then lastly, I was given 5 more bunnies.  Two were dwarfs, one male and one female.  Then the other three were lops.  Two females and one male.

Kizzy, Peanuts, and GG were all supposed to be due this past Friday, however GG never had any babies.  Peanuts had babies a few days late.  She had 5, but ate parts of each one, killing them all.  Then Kizzy had 5 babies on Friday, like she was supposed to.  One was underdeveloped and consequently, died right after birth.  The other four, however, all all doing really well and are so cute! The guy who gave me to two Lops (Elsa and Olaf) said that the females was most likely pregnant.  So she's currently in a hutch incase any little surprises pop up!

Because of the insane amount of bunnies and winter so quickly approaching, I took my adds down from craigslist...the ones saying I would take any unwanted bunnies.  Now, I'm slowly putting up adds as all the bunnies are hitting 6 weeks! Actually, my first batch turns 6 weeks tomorrow.  But I've put up quite a few of the newer bunnies.  I'm interested to see how they do since the two dwarfs and 2 of the Lops have pedigrees.

Anyway, I went outside today and got LOTS of pictures for you all! So to start off with, here is a picture of Kizzy's litter (sorry, it's a little blurry!)

I believe there will be one whitish, one black, one brown and one grey...we shall see :)

Then I took some pictures of what my rabbitry currently looks like with so many rabbits, and fans, and hoses, and electrical cords, and containers holding different feeds, and shovels, etc!

...and before you even begin to think it...yes, it looks very bad!

You can see the cords, hose, shovel, extra cages and feed containers all over...plus the fans in the background.

This is the saddest looking make-shift thing I've ever put together, however it's working for the temporary time.  I do intend to fix it up in the very near future though! (near being after I've gotten my wisdom teeth out)

As you can see they're propped up on cinder blocks.

And on top of the cages, I just through different objects that would give them shade, but was still heavy enough not to blow off in any passing wind.

And the fans...and then the cage up on my table...

And the two cages closing it up on the end between my table and the one hutch.

I've actually just taken the fans out and am hoping to rake out some of those leaves tomorrow.

But anyway, you can see how crowded it looks.

However, I'm willing to live with the crowd if it means the fans are keeping them from getting heat stroke! But like I said, I took them down because it's been cool enough lately that I don't need them anymore.

This Saturday we had been planning to completely re-do the entire rabbitry! We'd fix even the wooden structures holding cages up and we were going to get metal roofing and use that as the divider between layers of cages...however we need to postpone it a little since my wisdom teeth are coming out Friday.

But I'm really looking forward to re-doing it! It will look much nicer.  Plus, I'll replace/fix any pallets that need it and we'll be able to give all the cages a deep cleaning :)

Oh, and I picked this up the other day.  It was on sale since the summer season's coming to an end :)

And then, after taking all these pictures...I decided I would take a pictures of each individual bunny.  So here I go...

And I forgot to take a picture of my newest Velveteen Franz...but that's because he's in the house.  He's fully litter trained, knows his name and even gets along with our one dog :)  So there are the bunnies! And Cupcake and Dadooshka are both due tomorrow and have been ripping lots of fur out!

I bought some carpet squares we found at the dollar store.  They're really thick and I've already put one into a nesting box to keep the rabbits from digging holes.  So far it's worked really well! Plus, it will help give a little insulation for those babies :)

I'm really hoping Cupcake is pregnant.  She's had a false pregnancy before.  But I'm fairly certain that she is pregnant and she'll have a healthy litter :)
