So yesterday I bred some more bunnies. I actually wanted to breed them on Monday, but my job working at the pool on Mondays has completely thrown that off course. So it seems my new breeding days are Tuesday.
First up, my sister really wanted to try one more time with breeding Muffin (AKA - S'Mores). So above is a picture of Muffin, brown/white spotted breeding with Bubba, my blue Holland Lop male.
Below is my brown/white Mini Lop female Valentine, who I bred with Gorman, my BEW Holland Lop male.
Then this is a bad shot, but I bred my mixed female Saffron with my mixed male, Dustin.
And lastly, I put my Flemish Giant female, Cottontail, in with my Flemish Giant male, Jr.
Originally, I was planning on putting my Flemish Giant female LE in with Jr, but she doesn't have as much weight on her as I'd like her to before breeding. So I held off.
And as you can kind of tell from this picture, my female Cottontail had a patch of fur ripped out from between her eyes. I believe this happened from a raccoon...because she only has 1 baby left, and if he scratched her, it wouldn't have pulled out that amount of fur, but if he'd bit her, it wouldn't be such a large surface area. Instead, it would have been a very small, choppy spot with torn flesh.
However, she's just cleanly bald, overnight, with 3 thin claw marks going through the center of the bald spot. And it is for these reasons, that I believe it was a raccoon.
Jr. looks JUST like his sire, Rhett :)
Hopefully the breedings today will end in successful litters, whether small or large, I just am so thankful to have healthy babies, and good mothers who are willing to care for them!
