Yesterday my older sister and I spent a good part of the day inside. We were cleaning, cutting up, and canning banana peppers from our garden.
Here they are all cut up and deseeded. |
Then here we have all the seeds and tops which we took out/off. |
Then my sister filled the jars full with the peppers. |
In the jar ready to have the lid put on! |
The lids are being sterilized. |
Then under this lid is the liquid concoction that we have to put in with the peppers. |
While my sister worked on filling the jars up with peppers, I baked a vanilla cake and some oatmeal bars.
Oatmeal bars... |
...and vanilla cake! |
After I did that, we had some milk that had expired which I gave to the chickens...
They LOVE milk! |
Now we have LOTS of banana peppers canned and ready to be used this winter. They're really good on things like pizza. The cake has already been eaten and we only have a few more pieces of oatmeal bars left. And those chickens had a blast drinking some milk!
