So I ran over to check it out. And what apparently happened, was he was jumping to get on top of their blue hut, like they always do, and he must have slipped, hitting his back on one of their water bowl below. And sadly, breaking his spine.
At first I wasn't sure if he actually broke his back, or was just in shock from what happened.
So my mom and I propped him up to be more comfortable in a bed of hay, away from the other bunnies to get some rest. Within the hour, he passed away.
It was truly heart breaking, and is another reminder of how delicate rabbits truly are.
People always joke about how easily rabbits breed. But the reason they do is because they are so delicate, they have to in order to keep themselves from going instinct.
So, Jetta's remaining 8 babies are all doing extremely well, very healthy, solid bodies, good appetite, etc. All in all, they're just as cute and friendly as ever before.
