The litters are all closing in quickly to this weekend when their eyes should start opening up!
Valentine's Litter |
The dark colored baby in the picture above was smelling the camera :)
Then this is Ruby's litter.
Ruby :) |
Dotty is a very protective mother...which can be a good thing. She is definitely attentive. However, she doesn't like it when anyone touches her babies or the fur covering them. Hence the bad picture of her litter. But you can sort of see the babies underneath. She has a few spotted, both black/white and brown/white. She has a greyish/white one and I believe she also has a few dark colored ones :)

This picture is of Kayla's two babies. The black one and then the white one with black around it's eyes. They're both adorable!
Then my sweet LE :)
Sadly, she's down to seven babies from ten. Three froze. She now has four black/white, one all black, one all white, and one grey. I moved her into the single hutch that Dadooshka had been in and put Dadooshka where LE had been.
Dadooshka |
Dadooshka and Cupcake never had any babies. And I believe I know why.
Cupcake |
Dadooshka, Kayla, and Cupcake were bred by the only three males I had on a certain side of my rabbitry. When I had them all breeding it was evening time and windy. The side they were on was shaded. It may have been too cold that the breeding just couldn't take place.
While Kayla did have babies, she only had three. That's a small litter for her, most unusual. So I honestly believe that's what happened. And just because Dadooshka ripped out fur doesn't mean she was really pregnant. It could have just been a false pregnancy. So, this Monday when I breed my remaining females, I'll just re-breed them too.
Here are a few photo's of Peanuts' litter which will all be going to their forever homes this weekend.

I cleaned out Tasha's area. I got rid of all the fur she'd ripped out and made it nice in there for her. I honestly believe with her next litter she will do just fine and will be a great mother.

Then I got some flowers for my rabbitry to help brighten it up! And I must say, I think it looks great :)
I even made sure the flowers I got were all edible for rabbits. While they shouldn't be eating them, just incase they do, they'll be fine :)
So anyway, there are all the babies! I'm really looking forward to their eyes opening and the lop babies when their ears flop over :) All in all, the bunnies are doing great.
