I bred Lops, Lion Heads, and Meat bunnies :) Here are some pictures...
Above is Luna and below is Saffron. Both of them have begun ripping out some fur. Luna's not due until next week, but Saffron is due this weekend/up coming week :)
Saffron has had fur ready and ripped out since about a week after she was bred :) Hopefully she'll be a good mother!
Then every time I go to breed, I bring out a small piece of paper to write down who I breed with who, and who has already been bred before, so I don't accidently put them in with a male again. That would be very bad!
So I put Phantom and Tasha together...
This is the first time I've breed these two together. I have always put Tasha in with Piccolo and they had the cutest babies! But since he passed away, she and Phantom will be buddies. It will be neat to see what their babies look like, since Phantom has beautiful white spots and blue eyes :)
It's hard to see Tasha in these pictures. Their fur seems to meld! :)
I was going to breed her with Flynn (my new Mini Lion Head male, who I bought to replace Piccolo). I checked him, and he looked beautifully mature, so I stuck them together. Tasha was ready to go, but Flynn got scared and hunkered down. I think he needs just a little bit more time to fully mature before he's ready. So, that's why I stuck Tasha in with Phantom :)
Then I put Valentine and Bruce together.
If I'm remembering correctly, these two have always bred together. They have some really beautiful babies!!! Last litter, Valentine had a grey/white spotted male. I wanted it to be a female so badly! But since it wasn't, I sold him. But I would love to get a female in that color! I would definitely raise her up if/when I do :)
Then, I put Shira and Chuck together.
Chuck's had a few runs before, but this was a first for Shira.
I'm so excited to see the coloring of their babies!!! I think I might get some neat color variations with these two :)
Then last but not least....I put Nickel in with Dustin.
Just like Shira, this was a first for Nickel. She did NOT want to be bred at all. But Dustin was very patient and got the job done.
Her fur currently looks bad, she's molting.
I have NO idea what type of colors these two will have, as Nickel is the first rabbit I've ever gotten with that type of coloring...and her sire was Achilles, who I sold. I still have her dam, Cottontail.
I love Nickel's coloring so much...I think she'll have some cool babies :)
Dustin's a very handsome bunny, too :)
She's so pretty!!
It took a little longer than usual for Chuck to breed Shira.
But she was definitely making him work!
And these two were done minutes after I put them together!
Valentine's a difficult female, but Bruce is an awesome breeder and always gets the job done in no time!
He has the cutest face :)
Valentine was very happy when she got to go back into her hutch :)
Tasha and Phantom are currently still together.
Tasha normally needs to stay overnight when bred, as she's a very difficult female.
But I have lots of faith in Phantom who's never let me down :)
So that's the breeding for this week! Next week...either Monday or Tuesday I will be doing probably 3 sets. But maybe another 4, we'll see :)
