So, I currently have someone who's trying to get me to take...definitely one, maybe more of their Lion Head bunnies. I guess they're currently 4 weeks old.
She contacted me about a post I put up saying I'd take Lion Heads who were $20 or under. So I kept asking her how much she wanted...and she wouldn't answer. She kept telling me other things about them, but never the price.
So finally (actually, just a few minutes ago), she emailed me with the price. She said $45-$50.
I also had specified for a female. She said she didn't know if she had females or males...
PLUS, my post was preferred for Halequin colored or calico. And well...these are all white.
Consequently, the search for another female Lion Head will go on.
Then a few days ago, I had this woman who wanted me to take her English lop. She knew I was looking for females (once again, $20 or under), so she sends me this picture...
It's a male and she wanted $40 for him, plus $30 for his cage.
She informed me it's not a lot, as she paid around $260. And yes, I know it's not a lot. Truly, it isn't. But then she wanted me to pick him up...and she was NOT close.
The point of this post?? Don't get discouraged. You never have to settle. If you're willing to be patient, something almost always comes along. You don't have to take a rabbit because someone contacts you.
I like to, especially in the summer take them in. But it's not always possible. Especially when they want high prices, and it's not what you want in color or gender AND you have to travel far to get it. That should be a HUGE deal breaker for you.
Never ever settle. There's not reason for that. Obviously if the person's in a tough spot, I always take in their bunnies. But I NEVER go with a bad deal just for the sake of it. There's no point to it and then, it's not only unfair to that rabbit, but extremely unfair to you.
Because now you have another mouth to feed, another cage needed, bowls, water, care, love, etc. All rabbits deserve love, care, and attention. But that doesn't mean you're the person who has to do it. So be patient. I'm sure your dream bunny's out there somewhere :)
