So, today was a BIG breeding with 5 sets of bunnies :)
First, I put Kayla in with Phantom.
They're currently still together. In fact, they're the only pair still together.
Hopefully in 32 days, Kayla's litter will live longer than the past one.
And...I bred the Velveteen females! :)
I put Lily in with Gorman.
Gorman's a Holland Lop. But when I got Brody (Velveteen Lop male), the woman said she often bred Velveteen females to Hollands and took them to show where the judges were very impressed with their nice body.
Anyway, the breeding appeared to be very successful!
And with Gorman's coloring, maybe a few blue eyed babies will be in the litter :)
Now, Lily's the one who threw her litter of 12 last time. I'm hoping it was just because of her inexperience, and being a first time mom. But if she's bad with this litter, I'm going to spread her babies between other moms.
:)
Then I put Lily's sister, Lilac, in with Watson, my other Holland Lop male.
I'm not sure how successful it was. And Lilac seems to be very difficult to breed, seeing as she hasn't had 1 litter and has been bred a few times now.
Then I put Harriet (my brother's Lop, which he just gave to me) with my Holland Lop male, Bubba.
This was Harriet's first breeding.
But she did very well, and so did Bubba!
I would be surprised if she's not pregnant.
And with their coloring, I'm sure they'll have some cute babies :)
Then lastly...
...I bred my 'mystery' male, Bull, with my Giant Flemish mixed female, Buttons.
I'm REALLY excited to see the colorings of this litter!
I think both Buttons and Bull are beautiful rabbits.
And I think their color's will do beautifully together, and in carrying through to their young.
They're very good with each other too.
Button, grooming Bull :)
Then Bull groomed Buttons.
:)
It's hard to tell the exact colorings of Ruby's litter, but it looks like there will be a few unique colors in there. And for that litter, Bull was the sire. So I am really looking forward to seeing the combinations he and Button's create :)
