Wasp Trouble

So, for the past two years, there has been a wasp colony building up inside the large, 4 sectioned (old chicken coop) hutch.  And every year, it comes back with more wasps and they make their little spot bigger!

So, this year was obviously no exception and the wasps came back in ready to build and multiply!

Above is their entrance and exit hole, below is a blurry shot of what they've managed to build.  Not much, but enough to bring them back year after year.

Anyway, this year on a particularly warm day, every where you turned there were black wasps flying to and fro, bumping into me and cages - landing on everything and anything.  A few even chased me!

So, I started getting fed up with them.  And having a spray bottle I got from the dollar store a year or so ago filled with water and a fly swat, I began to go after each and every wasp.  What I did is this.  When I saw one flying, I'd spray like a lunatic, misting the wasp all over making it's wings too heavy to fly.  Once it'd land, I'd swat it! I even misted inside their hole onto all of them working on expanding their home. Now, a couple weeks later, I have ZERO wasps! They've all left! Looks like a little water and a fly swat are the perfect and very simple solution.  And miraculously, I did it all with no stings :)
