Kizzy's single Lion Head baby is doing very well! Like I said in the last post, unfortunately, the one Lop baby Kizzy was fostering died yesterday. However, with some extra straw for insulation, the two remaining babies are doing very well!
They're just snuggled together :)
Kizzy's a good mother. This is her third litter. Her babies are usually very popular with how small they stay :)
Then for my other Lion Head litter, here's Tasha.
Now, we've been having some crazy weather this whole year so far. And for the past few weeks, it's been nothing but cold, damp, misty, rainy, etc. And for the baby bunnies, it's really bad. All rabbit can get sick from this type of weather conditions, but baby bunnies are more susceptible. And so very sadly, two of Tasha's babies died.
I knew it was the weather when the one started coughing/sneezing all day. The next morning, she was dead. It was the male with a huge white blaze on his face and the tan female with the single white dot on her nose.
Luckily, the other three show zero signs of any sickness.
Now Tasha has 2 girls, and 1 boy left. I've been giving them lots of herbs and essential oil drops in their water to help prevent them from getting sick in this weather as well. I think it's the reason the Lop under Kizzy's care randomly died as well. This weather is very bad for their small/young lungs.
And last night there was a huge storm, it was raining and hailing and the wind was going like crazy! So I put the tarps in front of the bunnies like I do in winter to keep them warmer, out of the path of wind, and hopefully prevent any rabbits (especially the babies!) from getting sick.
As of now, these are my only Lion Head litters. But I'm hoping Kayla's pregnant and if she is, she should be having her litter this weekend :)
