Newborn Rabbits

Today, my females Lilac, Lily, Kayla, Harriet, and Buttons were due.  Tuesday evening, Buttons had a litter of 3 babies :)

They were really cute!

Then the next day I noticed blood underneath her.  An hour later, Buttons delivered the fourth, stillborn baby.  Luckily Buttons is doing very well.  Healthy and doing well keeping her 3 babies fed and warm.

Yesterday, Kayla (to my amazement) had a litter of 4 as well! 

I really didn't think she was pregnant at all, so when she had a litter of 4, I was pleasantly surprised. 

And Harriet had her very first litter yesterday as well. 

She had six beautiful little babies! AND, the sire of this litter is Bubba.  I had tried using him to breed before, but it was unsuccessful.  So this was his last chance.  Otherwise I was going to sell him.  So it was very nice to see Harriet actually have a litter, and they're so cute!

Then yesterday morning, my female Lily had a litter of 9 babies :)

So cute!

Hopefully this litter will be successful! Lily killed of her last litter of 12, so I'm hoping she'll be better with this litter.  If not, I can give some babies to Buttons, as she's used to having bigger litters and fostering babies.
