This past weekend 3 of my females had litters!
Here's Cottontail. She gave birth in the evening, on April 29th. And, I just happened to be lucky enough to watch :) She had a total of 4 babies, all of which are doing very well!
From their skin color, it appears there are 3 black, and 1 caramel!
Once again, I still don't have my good camera to take pictures with, so the quality of these are not the best. However, they are better than nothing :)
They're all so cute!
She's a very good mother and hasn't lost a baby yet!
She even started nursing right before I left her alone. She's a patient mother, very attentive :)
Then here's LE. And actually, LE is Cottontail's mother :)
But LE gave birth a day past her due date, April 30th.
And, like always, she ripped out a generous amount of fur to cover her babies :)
She had a total of 6 healthy baby bunnies!
They were really hard to get a picture of! They wouldn't stop squirming as they were cold from my pushing the fur back to get the shot.
So I didn't linger too long, and made sure to cover them back up.
It's been nothing but cold and rainy out the last few days, making it hard to do anything with the babies as the fur nests stick all over your hands.
Then lastly, Jetta. She had her litter a day earlier than her due date, April 28th.
And as you know, she had a beautiful litter of 9 babies!
Baby bunnies are just SO cute!!!
I love how you can see their small features; nose, eyes, and very tiny teeth! It's just so adorable :)
Jetta didn't make the biggest nest, but being a first time mom, she's doing very well :)
And it's not like her babies are cold. Since there are so many of them, they are keeping each other warm through lots of body heat :) I believe this coming weekend Bonnie, Dadooshka, and Kizzy are due. All 3 have already begun to rip out fur in preparation. And for a few of the females who seem to have had false pregnancies, I believe I'll be re-breeding them tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a bit more successful this time around :)
